A new baby is the perfect excuse to indulge in a little retail therapy – especially when there are so many opportunities thrown in your path! The baby’s Mum is someone who really appreciates the handmade so I knew that I would be spoilt for choice as I had a couple of craft events to attend over the course of one weekend.
My first purchase was actually made at the Morningside Makers market at the Ghillie Dhu (sadly this event has been cancelled after only one market) where I found this lovely animal alphabet print by Emily MacKenzie….
The perfect decoration for a nursery and very smart in it’s Ikea frame…..
I made another two purchases at the Spring Fling at The Creggans Inn ( a very enjoyable event - lots of lovely crafters and beautiful loch views) from a lovely lady called Wendy Higgins aka The Wee Quilter. I bought this sweet quilt which will be great as a playmat or as a wall hanging/decoration…..
It has Noah’s Ark and a few animals on one side and on the reverse an assortment of wee animals.
I also bought this lovely wee Bunny……
Such an appealing wee face!
Again perfect for a nursery decoration and for her to play with when she is a lot older. In fact there were a few bunnies for sale and I couldn’t resist buying another. Whether it finds it’s way to another small child or stays with me is debatable!
Last but not least a lovely handmade card by Bella Bheag.........
I finally got off my backside this week and opened a Folksy Shop and on Saturday I had my first sale!! I have two shops on Etsy – one for tweed and one for everything else but the Folksy shop has a mixture of both including these Liberty fabric shower cap and bag sets – great for Mother’s Day.
I am struggling to find the Folksy widgit to link from my blog to the shop – any suggestions/help would be appreciated!
