Today’s offerings come under the banner ‘Hanging Decorations’ – I am rather partial to a hanging decoration and they can be picked up relatively inexpensively all over the place! Most of these have been bought at craft fairs directly from their makers – all except this which was bought on Folksy…
From Dottery Pottery (sorry about the rotten picture - low light!) I love the colour and texture and although I am not usually one for “sentiments” written on things I quite like this - and the colour looks great against the purple of the kitchen wall.
Textile decorations are great and I particularly like this one by Wooden Tree…
Made from recycled embroidered linen and stuffed with cloves – it smells good enough to eat. Her work is also available from Glasgow craft boutique The Maisonette. This star is made from Kimono silk ….
So delicate! The doll is one of mine - it is stuffed with lavender.
I love these glass baubles – I have them hanging in my workroom window.
The colours are based on the Scottish landscape and I got them in a swap with Meg McGregor – a glass artist who was opposite me at Edinburgh last year. She makes the most amazing glassware and is a lovely person to boot!
There is a new shop in Great Western Road called The Life Craft – they run workshops and sell yarn, fabric and a few handmade items – I bought this ceramic bird bauble just before Xmas.
I do like it but I mainly bought it as it is a new shop and I wanted to support it in some way – every little helps!
This is a recent acquisition – bought at the craft fair in Balfron last week. I love the colours and textures in this mosaic heart made from recycled china plates and cups…..
Jaine has just added these to her range and I thought it was beautiful – it is now adorning my workroom.
Last but not least is this gorgeous knitted horse –….
another fab gift from Caireen – she certainly knows what I like! Knitting, horses, hanging stuff and those gorgeous pinks and reds….all wrapped up in one neat package! Almost there – only 2 more days to go – I have to say posting every day is a big commitment and I will be glad to get back to my old slacker ways!
