The other day I was complaining to a friend of mine about the weather and the lack of good light to work by and to take pictures by. The next time I saw her she gave me this……
And it has been the best gift ever. My friend bought it for her gloomy kitchen but found the light too cold but for me it is perfect. I have put it in the wall mounted anglepoise in my workroom and it has made a hell of a difference to working and to taking photos on dark March days! They are pretty pricey but well worth the expense and you can get yours here.
I visited Caireen on Saturday, despite the swirling snow! (she had made the most delicious wheat/gluten free Blueberry muffins - thanks Caireen!) We had a really good chat about crafting, our reasons for creating and the sort of things that inspire us. I have been struggling with this question for a while and think that now I can be content with where I am at at the moment. I have found further clarity from reading this book……….
And these two articles in the latest edition of Selvedge also struck a chord……
I love making things and it is a privilege to work with the beautiful materials that I am lucky enough to work with. I can’t deny that I get a real buzz when I sell something that I have made but I have come to realise that when I deliberately started to make things to sell in quantities I stopped enjoying it. For me the way forward is to make as and when I feel like it on a small scale and, if I am lucky enough, to make to commission on one off projects. If the sale of my work covers the (rather expensive) costs of the materials I choose to work with, I will be a very happy crafter.
I've got this book, and it's helpful to dip into.
Your mirror and tags arrived earlier this week, thank you! They are lovely.

I have had this book on my Amazon list for ages but have yet to order it. Pleased you had your light bulb moment and are sharing your thoughts with us again. Good blogs Ms Fieldy!
Thanks (again) from me too for my lovely mirror and tags.
All the best for tomorrow! BBx
