I spent most of yesterday at my friend Caroline's house taking photo's of some light fittings that she wanted to eBay and having lunch with another friend and her wee boy. It was also a perfect opportunity to take some photo's of my latest efforts on the sewing machine, for which I needed a very special 'prop'.
I have made a couple of Pet Beds (65cms x 65cms for small dogs) from recycled felted jumpers and who better to model them than Wee Sid !
He wasn't very keen at first (he is sooo adorable!).........
I think he was a bit confused as to what I was doing pointing some strange thing at him........
but he finally settled down and I got some nice pics.....
What a star! This bed is made from a patchwork of felt from 3 different jumpers, one of which was a Wally Jumper (with the hearts on) designed and made in Scotland - I think the company was around in the mid 80's but has since closed. The back of the Pet Bed is made of black wool molton that I got off a job (it was being thrown away!) It has a velcro fastening and removable cushion insert that I made and the whole thing is fully washable.
However he really wasn't keen on the next bed at all (look at those ears) - maybe it was the colours. ("But this bed is for a girl dog!") It is made from several different jumpers - the pink jumper, the felted scarf and 2 bright jumpers donated to me by Caroline (it took her a little while to clock them) and one of my own grey cardigans. Funnily enough with the exception of the pink jumper they were all from Gap ( their knitwear felts like nobody's business, even when you don't want it to!)
After a pep talk and some coaching from his agent............
he grudgingly co-operated.......
maybe he was a little bored of the whole modeling thing......
but in the end he rose to the occasion........
Thank you Sid! He didn't stay on this bed any longer than he had to but he couldn't wait to get back to this one. He was in and out the Ikea bags until I put it back out for him. I think he quite liked it.................
What can I say - the pup has good taste. It seemed a shame to move him..............
so his soft hearted Mummy bought it for him!! I think I can safely say that he is a satisfied customer!
Brilliant post Suzanne - and "Wee Sid" is adorable! Looks like your market research has confirmed you are on to a winner! Maybe you could ask Sid's permission to use some of his images for promotional purposes. (My, my, you have been busy - wish I could say the same!)x
