This is the view from my beautiful new studio window - I had to be quick taking this as we get about one minute of daylight at the moment - plus the dustmen kept walking back and forth in the background, getting in the way!
Really this is just an excuse to show off the lovely card and flowers MJ bought around last night to celebrate the newly decorated room. We also had some Cava to toast all who sail in her! Although I am on a detox I felt it would be rude not to take a glass!
This is how the wee purse project stood as of this morning.......
..I have cunningly cropped the pic to avoid all the mistakes made in the bottom two inches! They will dissappear into the seam anyway! Thurs night we will be putting the wee purses together - exciting stuff.
I was pleased how the knitting turned out in the end and I feel I have kind of got the hang of the continental style of knitting and I actually like working with the teeny needles - which is just as well as I am determined to become a virtuoso sock knitter! Seriously, sock knitting is the new rock and roll - you read it here first.
I also want to take this opportunity show off this reclaimed yarn - I love it!
It is a gorgeous turquoise with flecks of orange, green, pink and blue - totally the sort of thing I would have chosen myself. I got a bin bag full of old sweaters from a friend the other day and in amongst them was a massive hand-knitted gents V- neck sweater. I washed it and then frogged it for the yarn but saved the sleeves to see how it would felt. I got 3 balls the size of grapefruits from it - more yarn to add to the blanket stash! I persuaded MJ to take one of the balls away with her to make some crochet corsages with - oh yes, I am determined to contaminate everyone I know with the Yarn Bug!
Yay for the virtuoso sock knitter. I'll tell everyone who the trendsetter is.
Love the turquoise yarn. Isn't that the kind a non-british might call 'tweed' ?

Didn't comment the other day, but wanted to say I appreciated the openness in your post the about gratitude. It is something we constantly need to be mindful of or it is lost, I think.

Your dustman made me smile.....
It's rare that you can find something to unpick these days. I can remember my 'knitting' auntie doing it, wrapping the wool around a chair back, tying it then washing the crinkles out.
