I am off 'down south' for the New Year so will be taking a wee break from blogging. Hope to be back soon with some New Year projects - knitting bags for myself and my friend Anna are top of the list. Anna came over yesterday and we designed the ultimate knitting bag for our own personal requirements - whether it would be any good for other knitters remains to be seen.
I am taking a couple of new books with me -
I have already earmarked 3 projects that I want to have a go at! They are from Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts.......
A pencil roll....
which I will be adapting into a roll to store knitting needles. One of these pincushions...
and some of these bird ornaments.....
....out of felt and tweed of course!
I chose that particular knitting book out of the huge variety thay have at my local Borders. It is amazing how big the craft section has grown since I was last in there about 5 months ago! Start Knitting by Betty Barnden seemed to be the book that contained everything I needed to know as a novice knitter, laid out in a manner that is easy to read and understand. Here are a few images to give you an idea of the contents....
Wherever you are and however you are celebrating, have a wonderful New Year!
Ooo, good luck with all of your coming knitting adventures! I just picked up my needles again for the first time in nearly a year and am loving the little scalloped project I've got going. And it's the perfect portable craft. Unlike sewing.
