Playing!

Have just spent a very happy day in my home studio playing with some ideas! What a luxury to have the time. I only have a few days before I start a new contract so I want to make them as productive as possible.
Yesterday I made the patterns....

this morning I cut the pieces........

and in the afternoon I sewed it all up! I put the Harris Tweed labels on the back as I did not want them to intefere with the design on the front. I always do envelope backs on my cushions (not very good at zippers!)

The end result - two 70's inspired cushions.

I'm pleased with the way they turned out - think I will try some smaller items (purses/bags) using similar colourways.
Time for a glass of wine!

Am loving the new look cushions and blog! Remind me to tell you about strip piecing using cutting wheel & ruler, you will save yourself loads of time & accuracy (patchwork technique!).. XXx

these cushions are absolutely beautiful. you have such a good eye for colour- i love the way you placed the blocks together. definitely deserving of a glass of wine!
