my dad went through a japanese phase when I was younger and was forever quoting stuff. His favourite - and my least favourite in my angst-ridden teenage years - was:
"if there's something you can do about it, why getting angry? If there's nothing you can do about it, why getting angry?"
I can see the wisdom... now!!!
